Thomas at Tweetsie!!

In June,--June 12 to be exact, Brendan's 9th birthday!-- two of Elizabeth's favorite things collided. Thomas and Tweetsie!!! Her first Tweetsie experience was last summer, and she has talked about it ever since. It just so happened that the Day Out with Thomas tour made a stop there this year. And to make it all even better she got to go with her boys :)

It really is a great day for Thomas fans. When she first saw him coming around the mountain she gasped audibly and uttered a quiet, reverent "Thoooomaaaas"...

In addition to all the Thomas fun, we did all the "regular" Tweetsie stuff, too...

Ian had a little trouble staying on his side of the helicopter (dang that centripetal force). Elizabeth was not as amused by this as I was :)

A great day with great kids!

I missed the Thomas the Train deal (although I do recall The Little Engine That Could...perhaps Thomas is a later, more entitlement deserving version) so bear with me as I expostulate on my puzzlement. If we had painted the 19th century locomotives like the "new" Tweetsie, the Native Americans would have been hard pressed to come up with the phrase "iron horse." "Iron Clown" or maybe "You've Got to Be Kidding Me" but not iron horse...trust me.Speaking of horses...please keep in mind my previous commentary about horses...if it trots, floats or flys then lease it--don't buy one! The helicopter photo is great...gravity stills works even on an amusement park ride. Of course, there's always the chance that Brendan had already figured this out and was secretly reveling in squashing his cousin! Don't laugh...this kinds of thing happens among cousins!Who is Emily and what does she (it) have to do with anything...I'm lost here. Blowing Rock is one of my favorite places. Have some fun...ask your grandmother to tell you about the famous Farm House ride back to Morganton a "few" years ago!!Thanks for being a great subject.
