This bit of video brought back memories of The Rat Patrol weekend at Ocean Isle Beach in the early 1970's. Be sure and ask your grandmother Mary Lou for the details and don't be discouraged if she feigns "no recollection of any alleged Rat Patrol activities." She was (in her day) just as fearless as you when it came to descending stairs in dim light! At least you didn't wind up with your shorts full of sand "in all the wrong places!"
