Elizabeth finally got to meet her Uncle Bobby! Bob was in town for a few days at the beginning of May, and miraculously our schedules matched, and we were able to have breakfast together. Although Uncle Bobby is not our "real" uncle, he has always been a very special part of my life. Hopefully he'll talk to me again some day soon now that Project Blog Update is underway...

What is he "reallY"?
Gramma
Now this is the picture of a doting "uncle" ..."real" or otherwise. You should know that the "real" versus "otherwise" debate has raged for decades between certain members of your family and me and this "status inquiry and validation" was sparked by a remark from your Uncle Mark (yes, he is one of your "real" uncles) who questioned my authenticity (probably prompted by a jealous remark from another of your "real" relatives) as his "real uncle" while I was reading a story to him and including some "improvisational" passages. Your Uncle Mark was most literal in his pre-school years and he suspected that some of my "readings" were other than "as written." Unfortunately (or not, depending on your perspective) I was not blessed(?) with siblings so I have been required to "adopt" nieces and nephews (and thus their progeny) in order to create something resembling a "normal" family. The normality of your family could be (and has been) endlessly debated but your family is the one I have chosen so I/we are stuck with one another...just like a "real" family. But I digress....Meeting you was a tremendous treat...worth traversing the country for the pleasure. Note: this remark does not necessarity mean that you have blanket permission to call me in the middle of the night for bail money knowing that if you called your parents your "deep do-do" fate would be exacerbated many times over. By the way, none of your "real" uncles would answer the call...best take your chances with "Uncle" Bobby for youthful indescretions looming in your future. Nice to have the photos of you back on line...my wit was becoming dulled from lack of material. Please explain all of this to your Gramma.
