Spring Is In The Air

The snow left as quickly as it came, and with it went the cold weather. Spring in Atlanta is great--warmer weather but no bugs yet! We spent many evenings in March packing picnics, riding our bikes to parks, and letting Elizabeth burn off her seemingly endless toddler energy.

We faced the challenge this year of helping her overcome her fear of the bike helmet. Unfortunately, last year we pinched her chin in the helmet buckle on what would be our last ride of the season, and she had been understandably terrified ever since. With much coaxing and patience, we finally got her comfortable with the helmet again--the deal that worked was that she got to snap the buckles on our helmets...talk about terrifying!

February Snow in Atlanta

We actually had snow in Atlanta this year!! I was way more excited about it than Elizabeth, but I did talk her into making a snow man with me. Take a look at "Ian the Snowman"!

We all took a walk around our neighborhood. The park on our street really looked beautiful. Of course, most of the snow had melted by that afternoon, but we took full advantage while it lasted!

Elizabeth's snow angel skills had improved significantly since her attempts in Washington!

The Green House

January found us back in Georgia with the opening of my daycare quickly approaching. The process of getting The Green House off the ground and running has been a terrifying and satisfying experience. No two days are alike! Elizabeth continues to adjust to sharing Mommy with "her friends," which is what she calls all the other children, even though she still doesn't always treat them in a necessarily "friendly" manner, and Mommy continues to adjust to juggling the needs of 5 children at once. All in all, I have been very blessed in my business venture. I am full now and have a waiting list!

Here are a few shots of Elizabeth and her friends at The Green House...

Christmas in Washington

We were lucky enough to be able to spend a week and a half with Ed's parents in Washington state for Christmas this year. (Yes, I realize that it was technically last year, as it is now August 2010, but bear with me here...) All of the Link siblings along with their spouses and the 2 grandchildren were able to be there, so it really was a treat!

Elizabeth and her cousin Jack had a great time trying out the piano, exploring the Christmas tree (which Gege had beautifully decorated, as always), and even playing in the snow!

SANTA!!!

Truly wonderful! Santa made a stop in Morganton over thanksgiving weekend. It was E's first time with the big guy. I think she handled herself very well.

Summer Splashing

This is from this past summer while gigi was visiting. Nothing better than splashing and grinning!

Pumpkin Patch

We went to a Pumpkin Patch a couple weekends ago with our friends Megan and Andy and their girls Stella and Molly. It was cold enough for the Wisconsin boy to pull out the ear warmer!
